It seems that my enamel was brushed off from several teeth because I was unwittingly using, not my usual extra soft brush, but a soft one. At any rate, one dentist said it's ok to leave these teeth as they are, with the dentine exposed. Another one said I need crowns for all of them - I wonder if veneers could be indicated instead, if at all necessary. Could bacteria be getting into the teeth slowly so that I will eventually have pain? Could these teeth already be infected even though they don't hurt yet? By the way, I only eat complex, not refined carbohydrates or any sugar whatsoever. Any information about this will be greatly appreciated.

  • It is not safe to leave the exposed dentine like that as normally enamel is there to protect the dentine. If the enamel wear is not much and is only at cervical line ie near the gums the you can think of Composit Bonding otherwise procelain veneers or composite veneers is a good option. If the dentist feesl that veneers cannot serve the purpose as wear is much more then the crowns are the only option
