I had a labial frenectomy back in Dec. because it showed everytime I smile(bad), and the dentist I went to removed it with a scalpel, and basically it didn't help at all, in fact it might have made it worse cause now there is just a big, dark red scar like thing that goes right down the middle of my smile. It's really bad cause it shows up so dark against the rest of my light pink gums. Is there anything else that can be done for it? Please help!!

  • You can go for repeat of the surgery in which the dentist will remove the scar tissue and then that area will match the color of your gums. If the scar is too thick then gingival grafting can be done.
