Hello! I had a gum abcess on #25 and was referred to a periodontist. They said I needed a frenectomy first, would have to wait then 2 weeks for a connective tissue graft because the frenectomy needed to heal and they would also have to do an impression/stent prior to the grafting We went ahead and had the frenectomy. I now found out they are not in network and I am going to get a second opinion with another perodontist. Over the phone the second doc said they should have did the frenectomy together and he does not do impressions. Are there pros/cons to doing the impressions or is it an old school of thought? Thanks!!

  • It is difficult to comment with out seeing the case as the decision whether to do both the procedure simultaneously or separately depends upon the gravity of the case.If you have already got the frenectomy done then you have to wait for the healing and only then can go for the grafting. If ou wantt o know more about the gum surgeries you can visit the following link on our website...........http://www.identalhub.com/articlecategory-gum-surgeries-80.aspx
