I had 7 teeth removed and some were wisdom teeth, on one side where I had one molar and one wisdom removed, my tongue is getting sore, it feels like bone sticking up through the gum. It isn't just little pieces sticking up. It is actually a line, is it possible that it is my jawbone? And if so, what should be done, or can I do?

  • Had a tooth pulled almost 5 days ago and my gums hurt. I have had all my top teeth pulled and didn't hurt this bad. It just seems to be the one spot that hurts. It wakes me up at night.

  • The line you are feeling with the tongue is the cortical plate. Ideally it is reduced at the time of extraction only but sometimes it is left and is not compressed properly. In that case it hurts the tongue. You cannot do anything yourself. You have to go to the dentist who will remove the part of the corticall plate whichis hurting your tongue and you will be fine. After extraction you should follow all instructions given by dentist for faster healing.
